Description	:	MUSTOE – George Russell Waggy, 79, of Mustoe, a former member of the Highland County Board of Supervisors, died Saturday at King's Daughters' Hospital in Staunton. He was a retired farmer and formerly owned the Monterey Southern States store, which is now the Highland County Farmers' Cooperative. Mr. Waggy was a founder and member of Wesley Chapel Advent Christian Church at Mustoe. He also founded the Highland County Crusade for Christ, which is held each July at Monterey. Read More	MUSTOE – George Russell Waggy, 79, of Mustoe, a former member of the Highland County Board of Supervisors, died Saturday at King's Daughters' Hospital in Staunton. He was a retired farmer and formerly owned the Monterey Southern States store, which is now the Highland County Farmers' Cooperative. Mr. Waggy was a founder and member of Wesley Chapel Advent Christian Church at Mustoe. He also founded the Highland County Crusade for Christ, which is held each July at Monterey. Mr. Waggy was born May 7, 1906, at Mustoe and was a son of the late Harvey Pinkney and Lydia Frances Grummett Waggy. He has been married twice. His first wife, the former Ina Gutshall, died July 23, 1968. On March 25, 1970, he married the former Constance Graham, who survives. Also surviving are three daughters, Lois Marshall of Staunton, Doris Rexrode of Fincastle and Nancy Coffman of Waynesboro; a sister, Minnie Broagan of South San Francisco, Calif.; eight grandchildren; and six great–grandchildren. The funeral will be conducted 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Obaugh Funeral Home at McDowell by the Revs. William Cox and Joseph Klots. Burial will be in the Wesley Chapel cemetery near Mustoe. The family will receive friends 7-8:30 p.m. today at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family asked that contributions be made to the Highland County Rescue Squad, in care of James Thompson, Monterey, Va., 24485 or the Highland Volunteer Fire Department, in care of Nancy Cox, Monterey.
