Description	:	George Ryals “G.R.” Tyus, 93, of Grand Ridge, Florida died early Wednesday morning November 16, 2016 at Signature Healthcare Courtyard in Marianna. G. R. was a lifelong resident of Grand Ridge and retired from Florida State Hospital as an Assistant Laundry Supervisor. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, Technician 5th Grade in the 245th Port Company and served his country in World War II. He was preceded in death by his parents, Everett and Thannie Tyus; brothers: J.H. (his identical twin), Lamar, Tim, Troy, and Russell Tyus and sister Inez Williams all of Grand Ridge. Survivors include his wife, Susie Mae (Neel); son, Mike Tyus of Grand Ridge; daughters, Gwen Conner and husband, Rubert of Grand Ridge and Neva Jones of Tallahassee; sister, Nell Thompson of Las Vegas, Nevada; grandchildren, Heather Pryor and husband, Shawn, Lann Tyus, Vicky Centers and husband, Greg, Kim Revels and husband, Lawrence, Stephanie Larsen and husband, Rusty, Dana Garber and husband, Lance, and Randy Jones; 16 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Funeral services will be at 11am Saturday, November 19, 2015 at Maddox Chapel. Interment will follow at Cow Pen Pond Cemetery with military honors provided by the U.S. Army with James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing.
