The deceased was born in Boggs township, Clearfield County, Pa. He emigrated to Poweshiek county, Iowa, February 18, 1868. Moved to Seward Co., Nebr. May 17, 1895. Was married to Amelia J. Buck Oct. 22, 1868. Enlisted in Company E 125th Pennsylvania Volunteers on August 11, 1862 and served nine months. The family of children were as follows: John Beers of Watertown, So. Dak., Miles A. Beers of Sioux City, Iowa, George H. Beers of Motley, Minn., James F. Beers was born Aug. 11, 1875 and died May 17, 1885. Mrs. Sarah Beers Whalen, Crete, Nebr. The deceased has been a Christian almost all of his life. Has belonged to the Zion Evangelical church at Beaver Crossing for about twenty years, and was a faithful member until death. The funeral services were held in Zion Evangelical church July 3, 1926, Rev. F. De Vol, pastor of the church preaching the sermon. Mrs. Sarah Beers Whalen and George H. Beers were the only children present at the funeral. There were many sympathizing friends present too. There were many floral tributes that were very beautiful which were presented by relatives and friends.
