Read More	20 Feb 2017 Thank you Rebecca Sheehan-Plotkin for the following article from the Evening Times-Republican, Marshalltown, Iowa February 20, 1917: No Post Mortem Held Heart Disease Signed by Coroner as Cause of George Siever' Death No post mortem examination on the body of George Sievers, the Gilman blacksmith who was found dead in his shop Sunday, was held Monday afternoon, as was expected earlier in the day. Relatives of Sievers did not feel satisfied over the diagnosis of heart disease as having been responsible for Sievers' death, thinking that death might have been accidental, due to a bruise on the dead man's head when he fell. It was decided, however, not to hold the examination, and Coroner Lynn's statement of heart disease as the natural cause of death stands. Funeral services will be held from the Sievers' home Wednesday afternoon at two o'clock. Mr. Sievers was a native of Holstein, Germany, where he was born April 5, 1868 [NOTE: gravestone shows YOB as 1866]. He is survived by his widow and one son William at home. There are also three brothers, John, of Watertown South Dakota; Carsten, of Tama; and Fred of Gilman; and one sister, Mrs. Mamie Duffield, of Sumner, Michigan. Mr. Sievers' mother also lives at Gilman.
