Corriher Ave. Graveside service will be at 3 p.m. Thursday in Chestnut Hill Cemetery. Raynor was a native of Trenton, N.J. and a 1938 journalism graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Read More	GEORGE RAYNOR SALISBURY - George Stanley Raynor, 75, retired editor of The Salisbury Post, died Tuesday at his home, 145 E. Corriher Ave. Graveside service will be at 3 p.m. Thursday in Chestnut Hill Cemetery. Raynor was a native of Trenton, N.J. and a 1938 journalism graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He served as The Post's managing editor for 30 years and as its editor for eight years beginning in 1974. He won first place for editorial writing from the North Carolina Press Association in 1974, 1978, and 1980. After retirement he continued to write a Sunday column for The Post. Raynor helped to organize the Rowan Art Guild and was a member of the Rowan Historic Properties Commission and the Elizabeth Holmes Hurley Park Advisory Committee. Along with the late artist Aubrey Atkinson, he wrote the book ''Sketches of Old Rowan,' and more of his historical writings are being published. He received the Brass Service Plaque from the Steele Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, and he was a member of First Presbyterian Church. Surviving are wife, Nancy Lawder Raynor; sons, George S. Raynor Jr. of Goldsboro, James M. Raynor of Atlanta, Ga.; stepson, Zachary Holshouser of Salisbury; daughter, Mrs. Penny Cooper of Los Angeles, Miss Nancy Raynor of Salisbury; stepdaughters, Miss Nancy Gwendolyn Holshouser, Mrs. Veda Dry, both of Salisbury; brother, David S. Raynor Jr. of Mattituck, N.Y.; three grandchildren. The family will be at Summersett Funeral Home 7-9 p.m. today. Memorial contributions may be made to The Edith M.
