Mr. Leffler was apparently enjoying his usual health and husked corn most of the day Friday. He became ill Friday evening, a physician was called and Saturday forenoon he was taken to the Washington county hospital in the Stephens ambulance but died just as he reach the hospital. George S. Leffler was born December 28, 1869, in Washingon county and was aged 75 years 7 months and 17 days. He was married to Eleanor Keller and to them two daughters were born, both of whom survive him. They are Mrs. Earl Berkshire of Wayland, Iowa, nd Mrs. Frank Hanft o Warsaw, Indiana. Mrs. Leffler died in 187 and later he was married to Miss Nellie Houseal, who died in 1918. to them eight children were bor, all of whom survive him. They are Arthur Leffler and Mrs. Robert Summers of Burlington, Iowa; William Leffler and Mrs. Merle Duncan of Columbus Junction; Otis of Donnellson, Iowa; Homer Leffler of Blue Grass, Iowa; Roy Leffler who is stationed at Jefferson Barracks, Missouri, having recently returned from Italy wehre he spent 26 months in Service and Mrs. G. M. Humble of Washington. The following brothers and sisters also survive: Jacob Leffler and Mrs. Carrie Boyd, Conesville; Henry Leffler, Burlington; Frank Leffler, Washington; and Mrs. Amanda Tar(?) of Muscatine. He is also survived by 25 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at two o'clock at the Methodist church in Columbus Junction conducted by the Rev. L. H. Bill. All of the surviving children of Mr. Leffler were in attendance at the funeral services. MRs. John Morrison and Miss Ruth Wiegner, accompanied Mrs. B. O. Roundy, sang, "The Old Rugged Cross" and "Ivory Palaces." The flowers were in charge of Mrs. Robert Hesseltie and Mrs. Walter Kauffman. Casketbeareres were: Walter Kauffman, Robert Hesseltine, Geo. Kauffman, Raymond Hamilton, Robert Summers, and H. A. Harbison. Interment in salem cemetery noth of Gladwin.
