Trenary whose death occurred Tuesday night at 9:30 o'clock, will be held at the Elhanan Presbyterian church in Jefferson township, at ten o'clock Friday forenoon, and burial will be at the Tocsin cemetery. The death of Mr. Trenary came after a serious illness of ten days with leakage of the heart and complication. He had been bedfast 3 1/2 years with paralysis. The deceased was a native of Wells county and had spent a greater part of his life in the county, an esteemed citizen of sterling character. He was born on a farm near Elhanen, February 22, 1841, a son of Richard and Matilda Trenary, pioneers. He spent his early life on the home farm, and on December 4, 1859, was united in marriage to Miss Rebecca Kiser. She died in 1875. To their union six children were born, of whom five surviving are B. P. Trenary, Fort Wayne; Frank Trenary of Echo; Mrs. John Stine and Mrs. W. J. Rupright of the Tocsin community; and Mrs. Rebecca Brewer, of Solomon, Kansas. Mr. Trenary was married a second time, claiming as his wife Mrs. Emma Batt, who preceded him in death. From this union two children surviving are Grover Trenary of Walkerville, Mich., and Cleo Trenary. After his second marriage Mr. Trenary moved to Michigan. He resided with a son Grover, after the death of his wife and about four years ago returned to Wells County. One brother, Levi Trenary, lives at Trenary, Michigan. The deceased was a member of the Masonic lodge and of the Elhanen church. ***The newspaper article has his middle initial at "W" and his monument marker is with a "T".
