Description	:	George Tallman Elliott was born to parents George and Sarah (Hart) Elliott at Aneta, North Dakota, on August 1, 1891. He moved to the Leonard area with his parents as a child. He attended Dakota Business College, Hanson Mechanical Trade School, and North Dakota State University, all in Fargo. He farmed in the area, operated a Standard Oil Bulk dealership, and was a postmaster in Leonard for a time. On November 18, 1914, he married Mary Greuel at Bethel Moravian Church in Leonard. She died in 1962. He then married Amanda Stanley on March 30, 1963 at Leonard. She died in 1973 George had served on the Township Board, and the Leonard Town Board. For the past nine months he had resided at a Fargo nursing home. He died on Friday, April 29, 1979. The funeral for George, age 87, will be on Tuesday, May 3rd at 2:00 PM at the Trinity Methodist Church of which he was a member. Survivors include his son and daughter, Murrell Elliott and Joan Bunn, both of Leonard, ND; a brother, William Elliott of Paramount, CA; a sister, Verlon Nesemeier of Leonard, ND; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Preceded him in death were his sisters, Florence Nesemeier of Leonard, ND, and Myrtle Nesemeier of Fargo, ND; and a brother, James Elliott of Leonard, ND.
