Read More	Obituary of George Tobias Horine George Tobias Horine, son of Jacob Horine and Elizabeth Dutro was born in the Middletown Valley, near Myersville, Frederick, Maryland, Feb. 15, 1830. He died with Neuralgia of the heart, at his home in West Manchester, Preble County, Ohio, January 2, 1895, aged 64 years, 10 months and 17 days. In September 1836 he moved with his parents from the place of his birth to Castine, Darke, Ohio, and the next spring they purchased and moved upon the farm about two miles west of Castine where he lived until about eight years ago, when he retired from farm life and moved to West Manchester, some five miles from the farm where he died. After moving to town he was for a few years a partner with two of his sons in the mercantile business, but for several years before his death he withdrew entirely from business and lived a retired life. On March 6, 1853, he was united in marriage with Eliza Stout. To them were given five sons, one of whom died in infancy. Franklin Elmore, [1/27/1859- - 2/26/1859]. The other four, Joseph Newton, Jacob Wesley, William Clayton, & John Willas, together with his widow and four brothers, are left to mourn his departure. He was reared in the Luthern faith, but in January, 1849, he was converted at a meeting held in Castine, and joined the United Brethren Church, embracing fully its doctrines and reform principles, to which he remained true and faithful until his death. In 1889 he was elected a trustee of the Publishing House, and reelected in 1893, and was one of the most valuable members of the board. As a man, Mr. Horine was considerably above the average in intelligence, thoughtful, conscientious decided in his conviction and had the courage to stand by them. As a husband and father he was firm, true, and faithful, governing well his own household. As a christian he was consecrated, consistant and full of faith. Hence, he was honored and revered by his family, highly esteemed by his neighbors, and greatly loved by his brethren in the church. he died in peace as only a good man can die. ----- GEORGE T. HORINE, farmer; P.O. Castine; one of the old residents of Butler Township. George remained with his parents until 23 years of age, receiving but little education. After his marriage, he farmed his father's place for several years; in 1866, he purchased the farm upon which they now reside. During the thirteen years that have followed, very material improvements have been made. The farm now consists of 220 acres, in Sec. 28, with a neat, commodious brick building, and other improvements to correspond, which makes a very desirable home. Mr. Horine is a substantial, respected citizen. He is a member of the Board of Trustees of the United Brethren Church. Both he and his estimable wife are worthy members of the church, and useful members of society. They are parents of five sons. The last three are attending school.
