Thomason, youngest son of Milton and Sarah Thomason, was born May 27, 1859, at the farm home of his parents near Lacona, Iowa, and departed this life at his home in Lacona on Feb. 3, 1937, at the age of 77 years, 8 months and 6 days. He was united in marriage to Miss Louisa Dillman, of Oakley, on Feb. 17, 1887, and they would have celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in a few days. He is survived by his companion and four sons, Lloyd L. Thomason, of Motley, Minn.; Park F. Thomason, of Mason City, Iowa; Verne Thomason, of Edwards, Mont.; and Ernest Thomason, of Lacona, Iowa. One son died in infancy. He also leaves 15 grandchildren and other relatives and friends. Most of his life was spent in and near Lacona, where his jovial disposition and ready wit won for him a host of friends and only the friends themselves can tell of his many acts of kindness for which he wanted no audible praise. Funeral services were held Friday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock at the Christian church, conducted by Elder Robinson, of Lacona. Music was furnished by a mixed quartette composed of C. N. Rodgers, Darrel Parkins, Mrs. C. N. Rodgers and Beatrice Shupe, with Mrs. Myrtle McKnight, pianist. Burial was in the family cemetery southwest of Lacona. Obituary courtesy of Charles M. Wright
