He later remarried to Hannah Creek. A rancher for most of his life, George spent a number of years in Montana before coming to Nevada. He worked as a ranch hand and manager on ranches in Willow Point and Wadsworth before his retirement in 1935. He died at his home in Reno after a long illness.
