Description	:	George was the son of George Washington Farr, Sr. and Mary Ann Norris Farr, who were married in Coshocton County, Ohio on 20 October 1842. After Mary Ann died circa 1864, George married Anna Norman Pinkerton Farr. Anna Norma first married John Pinkerton and among the 7 children they had is Jemima Jane, wife of George Washington Farr, Jr. After John Pinkerton died in 1858, Anna then married Charles Farr 23 November 1859 in Adair County, Missouri. Anna Norma first married John Pinkerton and among the 7 children they had is Jemima Jane, wife of George Washington Farr, Jr. After John Pinkerton died in 1858, Anna then married Charles Farr 23 November 1859 in Adair County, Missouri. Charles was a son of Joseph and Catharine Farr and brother to George Washington Farr, Sr. Charles died during service in the Civil War and Anna then married brother George Washington Farr, Sr. 22 January 1866 in Adair County. Anna is buried in Pinkerton Cemetery under her first married name of Pinkerton. It is thought George Sr. is also buried there. OBITUARY George Washington Farr was born in Ohio, February 22, 1851 and departed this life April 26, 1927 at the age of 76 years, 2 months and 4 days. He was united in marriage to Jemima Jane Pinkerton in April, 1870, who preceeded him in death on Nov. 10, 1913. To this union were born nine children. Two, Anna and Johnnie, dying in infancy. Those surviving are Alpha of New Sharon, Iowa; Mrs. Eva Holmes of Faxon, Oklahoma; Mrs. Effie Lawrence, New Sharon; George of Wathena, Kansas; Mrs. Cora Nicholson of Pella, Iowa; Herschel of Iowa City and Mrs. Ada Winn of New Sharon; also by five grandchildren and four great grandchildren. The four brothers and three sisters are Mrs. Sarah Boyd, Taintor, Iowa; Alex of Kirksville, Missouri; Mrs. Martha Carey of California; Frank of Natoma, Kansas; Elias of Sylvan Grove, Kansas; Morris of Walker, Missouri; and Mrs. Ella Fry of Red Lodge, Montana. He was married to Vina Ballinger in 1915, who died in January, 1918. He was again married to Miranda Wymore of Oskaloosa, Iowa, December 30, 1920, who, with a host of other relatives and friends, still survive. Coming to Iowa with his parents when but four years of age he knew all the hardships incident to pioneer life. Having lived almost his entire life in this community. He was a good neighbor and a loving husband and father who will be greatly missed. Funeral services conducted by Rev. C. D. Loose were held at the Lower Grove Baptist Church on Thursday, April 28th, with interment at the Peoria cemetery. From New Sharon Star May 5, 1927 issue
