George Washington North was born in Perry County, Pennsylvania on 24 June 1835 and, with his parents, moved to Washington County, Iowa in 1845. He was married to Miss Elizabeth Shively in 1861. W. North died this morning at the hospital. His death was expected at any time within the past two months. George Washington North was born in Perry County, Pennsylvania on 24 June 1835 and, with his parents, moved to Washington County, Iowa in 1845. He was married to Miss Elizabeth Shively in 1861. Mr and Mrs North moved to this city from Sigourney, Iowa in 1907 and since have been cared or by their son, Frank. He leaves to mourn his loss, a wife, three sons: Frank C of this city; Robert E of Ordway, CO; and W E of Sounding Lake, Canada Three sisters: two of Horton and one living at What Cheer, IA; a brother of Pleasant Hill, IL He joined the Christian Church in 1885 and was a faithful member until his death. He was a member of the I.O.O.F. for over 50 years and held his membership in Sigourney, Iowa. Interment in the Holsington Cemetery.
