C. December 6, 1949 George W. Miles Of Columbia Dies George W. Miles, 73, of 1913 Barnwell St., died in his home at 6 o'clock yesterday morning after an illness of several weeks. Mr. Miles was formerly of Lugoff but had lived in Columbia for the past five years. He was a member of Concord Baptist Church and was engaged in farming. He is survived by five daughters Mrs. B. S Johnson of Ward, Mrs. J. L. Aldrich and Mrs. H. W. Porter of Blaney, Mrs. T. W. Rabon of Columbia and Mrs. Alvin Allen of Alphena, Michigan; four sons, Louis Miles of Newberry, Ernest Miles of Blaney and Edmond Miles and C. Wesley Miles, both of Columbia; one sister, Mrs. Ida Brazell of Columbia; and three brothers, A. D. Miles, Jesse Miles and Frank Miles, all of Columbia. Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday from the Union Baptist Church in Blaney. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Zed Miles, Ennis Miles, Hayward Koon, Harry Koon, Denley Miles and Gary Koon. Honorary pallbearers will be Otis Rillinger, Carl Rillinger, Robert West, Louis Miller, Rufus Davis, W. C. Strange, J. C Lester and Mr. Jacobs. ~~~~~
