Millhouse were held at the home of his granddaughter, Mrs. Roscoe Anderson, Long Pine, Sunday afternoon, conducted by Rev. O.E. Richardson, pastor of the Bassett Methodist church. Interment was in Ainsworth cemetery. Interment was in Ainsworth cemetery. George Washington Millhouse was born in Jay County, Ind., February 20, 1851, and passed away at the home of his daughter, Mrs. George Veenker, in Bassett, Nebr., September 15, 1937, at the age of 86 years, and 7 months. On November 11, 1871, Mr. Millhouse was united in marriage to Miss Sarah Carpenter of Collins, Ia., who passed away on December 24, 1892. To this union nine children were born, two of whom, Richard and Clarence, preceded him in death. The family moved to Creighton, Nebr., from Collins, Ia., in 1883 and resided there until 1906 when they moved to Wheeler County where Mr. Millhouse filed on a homestead in Buffalo precinct. On the death of his wife, he steadfastly refused to have his children separated and the balance of his life was dedicated to their interests until later years when he made his home among them. While residing near Creighton, he joined the Christian church and was a firm believer in God’s word. Mr. Millhouse leaves to mourn his passing one son and six daughters, Mrs. Oscar Anderson, Long Pine, Nebr.; Mrs. Alice Smith, Oswego, Ore.; Albert Millhouse, New Castle, Wyo.; Mrs. Clara Veenker, Bassett, Nebr.; Mrs. Mary Hack, Portland, Ore.; Mrs. Ona Austin, Erickson, Nebr.; Mrs. Edna Elkins, Monterey, Calif.; 34 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren and three nephews, Jake Woten, of Lincoln, Nebr.; Hugh Woten, Harrisburg, Nebr.; John Woten, Potter, Nebr.; also other relatives and many friends.
