Description	:	George W. Staup, aged 75, died yesterday morning at 10:30 at the home of his son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Edward Robinson, St. Mary's Terrace. He had been seriously ill since Wednesday, September 10 when his home was partially destroyed by fire and Mr. Staup was trapped on the second floor. Mr. Staup was in bed when the fire broke out and could not make his escape because of heavy smoke. Mr. Staup was finally taken from the burning house by his son-in-law, Edward Robinson, who made his way through the blaze to Mr. Staup's room and carried him down a ladder. Since that time Mr. Staup has been suffering from the effects of smoke and severe shock. Mr. Staup was well known in this section. He was constable-at-large for 17 years, but had lived in retirement for the past few years. He was born on a farm a short distance from Lonaconing and had resided here practically his entire life. He was a member of the Methodist Episcopal Church. He is survived by four sons, Andrew, George W.
