Description	:	George W. Pierce, 77, of Gibbon, died Wednesday, June 3, 2015 at his home. A memorial service will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 5, 2015 at Faith United Church in Gibbon with Pastor Larry Michael Rush officiating. Interment will be held at a later date. O’Brien Straatmann Redinger Funeral Home of Gibbon is in charge of arrangement. George Wendel Pierce was born February 24, 1938 in Sargent, Nebraska to James “Gard” and Minnie V. (Loyd) Pierce. George received his education from Sargent High School, graduating in 1955. On November 30, 1957, he was united in marriage to Diane Walker. George began working at Nebraska Central Telephone Co. as a lineman in 1959. He retire as the Plant Superintendent after 45 years of employment. On December 4, 1987, George would marry Kathy at the Faith United Church in Gibbon. The couple enjoyed 27 years of marriage. George had many hobbies including; building cars, especially his 1929 Roadster, 1914 Ford Speedster and a CJ Jeep. He also enjoyed rebuilding lawn mowers. Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Kathy Pierce of Gibbon; son, Bruce (Krista) Pierce of Gibbon; daughter, Kasey (Todd) Parr all of Gibbon; step children, Justin (Anna) Robinson and Jason (Joy) Robinson; grandchildren, Kyla Earll, Timeree Smith, Tyson Pierce, Tate Pierce, Emilee Parr, Addison Parr, Nolan Parr; step grandchildren, Sam, Simon, Sawyer and Spencer Robinson and Mindzie Madsen; great grandchildren, Izabella and Brayden Earll, Kaden, Jace and Tinley Smith and Hadley Pierce. Sister, Charlene (Richard) Travis of Kohler, WS; sister-in-law, Darlene Pierce of Fairbury, as well as, many nieces, nephews and friends. George was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Diane and his brother, Jim Pierce.
