Description	:	George Whitfield was the son of Alexander and Mary (Volah) Gibson. He married Emily Chapman daughter of John and Betsy (Dodge)Chapman on July 26, 1871 in Sidney, Fremont County, Iowa. Book A Page 75 No# 264. To this union eleven children were born Alice, Edward, Miller, Cora, Betty, Orman, Roy, Willie, Howard, Carson and Myrtle. Three of these children Armand, Roy and Willie died when they were ice skating at recess on February 2, 1897 when the ice gave way. Emma's sister Annettie (Chapman) McIlvain daughter Nora also died.
