Read More	The Newark Advocate Newark, Ohio Sunday, 4 May 2008 GEORGE HANNERS (1932-2008) A memorial service for George William Hanners, 75, of St. Louisville, will take place at a later date. George passed away Saturday, May 3, 2008, at his home in the loving care of his family and Hospice of Central Ohio. He was born Nov. 1, 1932, in St. Paul, Ky., to the late Martin and Hazel (Arthur) Hanners. George was known for his wit and great sense of humor. This endeared him to his wife and family. He even loved to surprise the people from Hospice with his incredible sense of humor. George worked for the B&O Railroad for many years and retired from Kaiser after 17 years of faithful service. He also served his country proudly in the U.S. Army and the National Guard. He enjoyed coaching women's softball and co-ed tug of war for many years in the St. Louisville community. He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Judith (Knauff) Hanners, whom he married March 7, 1953; daughters, Loralee (Randy) Kaneff, of St. Louisville, and Pam Klintworth, of Newark; sons, Matt Hanners, of Warsaw, and Tim (Jodi) Hanners, of Newark; sisters Corena Staugh and Helen (Kenneth) Oakleaf; 12 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents, George was preceded in death by a brother and a sister. Family and friend may call from 1 to 5 p.m. Monday at Criss-Schoedinger Funeral Home, 179 Granville St., Newark. In lieu of flowers, the family asks donations be made to Hospice of Central Ohio, 2269 Cherry Valley Road, Newark, OH 43055, and the St. Louisville Fire Department.
