Young, death having claimed his spirit at 10:30 Monday night at the family home in Benedict. Mr. Young had been in fairly good health until about a year ago when he suffered a stroke. Last Saturday his condition became serious and his death Followed several days later. Mr. Young was born at Brooks, Iowa, on March 27, 1856, and lived to be 81 years 10 months and 18 days old. October 14, 1883, he was married to Miss Mary E. Powell at Benedict, Neb., where they spent most of their married life. To this union three children were born and Mr. Young leaves to them the memory of a beloved father ever kind and thoughtful. He was a carpenter by trade and built many articles for his home which he loved and enjoyed. He assisted and gave loving care to his wife, who has been in failing health for some time. He will be sadly missed in the family circle and by a host of friends who are sorrowing in their bereavement. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Mary Young; one daughter, Mrs. Bessie Uhler oF Benedict; two sons; Eugene W., of Edwards, MO., and Arthur T. of Lincoln, NE. Three sisters, Mrs. Sadie Record of St. Joseph, MO, Mrs. Mary Darnell of Lynch, NE, and Mrs. Celia Walker of Richhill, MO. Eleven grand children, and two great grand children. He was buried at Pleasant Hill cemetery.
