Mr Wright always took an active interest in his community and served on the school board there for 40 years. He is survived by seven children: Mrs Ethel Garrett, Burlington, Mrs May Rohr of the home, Walter Wright, LeRoy, Floyd Wright, Burlington; Glen Wright LeRoy and Clarence and Jessie Wright of Wichita. Services were conducted from the LeRoy Methodist church Tuesday Feb 8 at 2:30 with pastor Rev. J.R. Williams in charge three duet numbers were sung by Mrs Mollie WArren and Mrs Dorothy Muphy with Mrs June Hess accompanaying at the Piano. Casket bearers were: Charles Whiteley, Pearl Richards, Arthur Klaus, Matt Lake, George Lake and C.A. Nichols Sr. George Wright was born to David and Ruth Wright in Grant Co Indiana Dec 23, 1861 he passed away Saturday Feb 5. Although he had been blind for the last three years, he bore his suffering bravely. He moved with his parents to Coffey Co KS in 1865 settling on Big creek later moving to Missouri and Iowa. In the year 1887 he moved to the Sunnyside neighborhood four miles northwest of LeRoy where he lived 62 years. On January 20 1890 he married Minnie Bell Hadley at Burlington, KS. to this union seven children were born all of whom were with him at the end. He is also survived by two sisters and one brother: Mrs Ellen Wise, Mrs Nettie Wortman, and Elwood Wright. One brother Mahlon preceded him in death He also leaves 22 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. He was a Quaker by faith, a kind father, neighbor and friend. His wife preceded him in death almost three years ago, they were both cared for by their daughter Mae.
