She was born March 29, 1920 at Nebraska City, daughter of Frank W. and Julia Isabelle (Jackson) Johnson. She married Lyle Moell at Talmage in 1948. He died in 1960. She married Randolph J. "Randy" Powell in 1964 at Cook. A homemaker, Powell was a 1938 graduate of Omaha Technical High School. She lived at Omaha, Talmage, Cook and Lincoln before moving to Nebraska City in 1997. Powell loved music, singing and crocheting. She played the violin and mandolin. Powell was a thoughtful person. She loved Christmas. Surviving are her husband, Randy, Nebraska City; mother-in-law, Kathleen Benis, Nebraska City; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Thomas and Else Powell, Omaha; nieces and nephews, George Carl Johnson, Harrisonburg, Va., Sudie Clayton, Terry, Miss Fred Burroughs, Ute, Iowa, Marjorie Schuett, Fremont and John Arnts, Clarence, Mo.; and many other relatives and friends. Powell was preceded by her first husband, parents; brothers, Carl, Verne and Frank Johnson and Chester Taylor; and sisters, Mary Griffin and Olivia Johnson. Services June 17 at the First United Methodist Church, Nebraska City. The Rev. Jeff Kelley officiating. Interment at Wyuka Cemetery. (Nebraska City News-Press, June, 2005)
