Mrs. Casper had had multiple sclerosis for several years, but the exact cause of death was unavailable. Mrs. Casper was born on Sept. 27, 1923, in Scotch Grove, Iowa. Her maiden name was Moats. She held a bachelor's degree from Whitworth College in Spokane and a master's degree from the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee. She graduated from high school in Monticello, Iowa, attended college in Dubuque, and earned her bachelor's degree from Whitworth College in Spokane Wash., in the early 1950s. She later earned a master's degree from the University of Wisconsin in Milwaukie. She married the Rev. Edwin Casper on April 7, 1943. She was a teacher for 38 years in various communities where her husband was a pastor. After moving to Vancouver in 1977, she worked for the Evergreen School District until retiring in 1988. Mrs. Casper was a schoolteacher, and taught for 38 years in various communities where her husband served as a pastor. She also was a principal in Watertown, Wis., for four years. After moving to Vancouver in 1977, Mrs. Casper worked in curriculum development for the Evergreen School District for three years until resuming teaching about 1980. She retired in 1988. She and her sister, Imogene Doden of Vancouver, co-authored a book, ''I Would Do It Again,'' a history of their parents' experiences homesteading in South Dakota and Montana. She was a member of Columbia Presbyterian Church. In addition to her husband and sister, Mrs. Casper is survived by sons Todd of Camas and Perry of Seattle; brother Reece Moats of Monticello, Iowa; another sister, Wilma Clark of Monticello; and two grandchildren. A brother and a sister died previously. Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Gardens Cemetery. The family suggests that remembrances be contributions to the Columbia Presbyterian Youth and Education fund. Oregonian, Monday, July 1, 1991
