Born Apr. 23, 1907 at Alderson, she was the daughter of the late David Silas and Effie Della Flint Thomas. Mrs. Harrah was a retired laundry worker, having retired from The Greenbrier in White Sulphur Springs, and was a homemaker. She was a member of Griffith Creek Baptist Church, Alderson, and a member of the Maintenance Workers Local Union 1182, White Sulphur Springs. She was preceded in death by: her husband, Tom H. Born Apr. 23, 1907 at Alderson, she was the daughter of the late David Silas and Effie Della Flint Thomas. Mrs. Harrah was a retired laundry worker, having retired from The Greenbrier in White Sulphur Springs, and was a homemaker. She was a member of Griffith Creek Baptist Church, Alderson, and a member of the Maintenance Workers Local Union 1182, White Sulphur Springs. She was preceded in death by: her husband, Tom H. Harrah; daughter, Helen Holz; sisters, Bernice Clark, Icie Schmeiser, and Jewell Pierce; brothers, Lee Thomas, Kenneth Thomas, David Thomas, and Fred Thomas; and grandsons, Leo Richard Harrah II and Billy Holz. Survivors include: son, Leo Richard "Pete" Harrah and his wife, Della of Cross Lanes; three daughters, Marie Babic and Alice "Kitty" Cook, both of White Sulphur Springs, and Lota Skaggs of Alderson; sisters, Joan Buckholz of Kissimmee, FL and Violet Snyder of Lorain, OH; special friend, Rev. Joe Boland of Nimitz; 16 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; a great-grandchild expected in April; and many nieces and nephews. Services were held Mar. 19, at Lobban Funeral Home Chapel, Alderson, where the Rev. Emory "Tommy" Mounts officiated. Burial was in Old Greenbrier Memorial Cemetery, Alderson. Serving as pallbearers were grandsons and great-grandsons.
