Description	:	Georgia M. Dirr, 89, Defiance, died today, July 12, 2007, in Laurels of Defiance. She was born July 25, 1917, in Toledo, Ohio, the daughter of Monie and Tillie (Bohlman) Maschler. She graduated from Defiance High School in 1935. She worked at Monie's Restaurant from 1930-35. She was an American Heart Association field director from 1957-86. She organized heart boards, Heart Sunday Fund Drives and provided education resources for Defiance County and at one time 10 surrounding counties in northwest Ohio. Dirr, 89, Defiance, died today, July 12, 2007, in Laurels of Defiance. She was born July 25, 1917, in Toledo, Ohio, the daughter of Monie and Tillie (Bohlman) Maschler. She graduated from Defiance High School in 1935. She worked at Monie's Restaurant from 1930-35. She was an American Heart Association field director from 1957-86. She organized heart boards, Heart Sunday Fund Drives and provided education resources for Defiance County and at one time 10 surrounding counties in northwest Ohio. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church ELCA where she taught Sunday school, sang in the choir, worked for the Service Guild and started the Beta Circle Bible Study. She sang "The Messiah" in high school and at Defiance College until 2002. She did aerobics at the YMCA until she was 80. She started playing bridge in fifth grade and played her last game at Kingsbury House in May. She was also a former member DRMC Auxiliary and Defiance College Women's Commission. Preceding her in death was a brother at birth. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in St. Paul Lutheran Church with Rev. David Brobston officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery. Visitation is from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday at Mast-Mock-Hoffman-Hanenkrath-Clevenger-Schaffer Funeral Home and one hour prior to services at the church on Saturday. Preferred memorials are to St. Paul Lutheran Church or Peace Lutheran Church, Fremont, Ind. Condolences may be left at www.mastmockhoffman.com.
