Larry and Glee moved to Eureka, California in 1959 and later in life returned to Washington State to retire. -------------- GLEE JURGENS Glee (Pence) Jurgens was born in Yakima, Washington on January 17, 1933 to George and Blanche (Mimi) Pence. She was raised and educated in Ellensburg, WA and graduated in 1951. She attended St. Elizabeth School of Nursing in Yakima after her high school graduation until her marriage to Lawrence Jurgens. They were childhood sweethearts and began Kindergarten together and shared the rest of their school years in Ellensburg. Their first daughter, Kerry was born in Ellensburg and the family moved to Arcata, CA to work and raise 5 daughters. Lauren, Kimberly, Kelly and Heidi who were all born in Arcata, CA. Together they raised their daughters in the small town of Blue Lake, CA., a wonderful small community in Northern California, life was full of adventures. Glee learned the IBM Keypunch System as an employee of Northern California Log Scaling Bureau. She then became an employee of the State of California CALTRANS from 1965 to 1976. As a Data Processing Supervisor and eventually Engineering Technician, she later worked at California State Credit Union as a Collection Officer. She loved her family and the frequent get togethers they had. Her hobbies were fishing, gardening and a love for camping and cooking. She and Larry spent many vacations in their camper and motor home traveling the west and enjoying the great outdoors. Whiskeytown and Trinity Lakes were a favorite spot when their children were young and into water sports. They loved to water ski and fish off of Larry's boat. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren were a special part of her life and she loved them all dearly. She especially loved Christmas and the many hours she spent shopping for the entire family to find just the right gift. Fudge, raspberry jam and homemade Kahlua were always a big part of her Christmas packages. Survivors include her four daughters and their husbands, Terry and Tom Borba of Milton-Freewater, OR, Lauren & Terry Lochner of Blue Lake, CA, Kimberly & Zeke Sechrest of Ukiah, CA and Heidi & Lauren Inman of Coeur d'Alene, ID; also surviving are 12 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren; her sister, Pamela (Herb) Schmidt of Selah, WA. She is preceded in death by her loving husband; daughter Kelly Parker; sisters, Carmen Tegen and Gayle Weed. Private Memorial Service will be held at a later date this summer.
