Description	:	Big Timber Pioneer, August 22, 1990 Gerald A. Etzold, age 70, passed away Thursday evening, August 16, at his home in Big Timber. He was born February 17, 1920, in Akron, New York, the son of Myrtle and Alvin Etzold. He attended Akron schools and served in the Army Air Force during WWII. He married Mary Deegan in Akron, New York on October 30, 1945. While living in Big Timber he worked for Bouse Chevrolet and Stan's Implement. He also served as Justice of the Peace. Etzold, age 70, passed away Thursday evening, August 16, at his home in Big Timber. He was born February 17, 1920, in Akron, New York, the son of Myrtle and Alvin Etzold. He attended Akron schools and served in the Army Air Force during WWII. He married Mary Deegan in Akron, New York on October 30, 1945. While living in Big Timber he worked for Bouse Chevrolet and Stan's Implement. He also served as Justice of the Peace. He was employed by the Soil Conservation Service, served as a deputy sheriff in Toole County, and was school bus superintendent for the Forsyth Public School system in Forsyth where he retired in 1976. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Dorothy, all of Akron, New York. He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans, past member of the American Legion Post 19 the Big Timber, volunteer Fire Department, and the Overland Golf Course. Survivors include his wife of Big Timber; two sons, Gerry of Edgewater, MD, and Bud of Dickinson ND; one daughter, Judy Sandsness of Malta; a brother, Jules of Big Timber; and six grandchildren, Derrick and Kara Etzold, Tessi and B.J. Etzold, and Garth and Greg Sandness; one niece Julie Bryce of Billings. Funeral services were held from the Lowry Funeral Home with burial with military honors in Mountain View Cemetery.
