A memorial service will be held at First English Lutheran Church in Lennox on Saturday, Dec. 20 at 1:30 p.m. Gerald was born on May 4, 1918 at Lester Prairie, MN. He was raised in Lennox by his parents, L.W. "Roy" and Lucille Dindot. He graduated from Lennox High School and Worsham College of Mortuary Science in Chicago, IL. He served in the US Army Infantry during World War 11. On August 4, 1940 Gerald was united in marriage to Eileen Simon in Lennox. They made their home in Lennox and spent the later years in Rapid City. He was in partnership with his father and later owned and operated the funeral home, known as Dindot & Son Funeral Home. He retired in 1983. Gerald was a member of First English Lutheran Church in Lennox, a 45 year member of the Lennox Volunteer Fire Department, a 50 year member of the Masonic Lodge, a member of the Lennox Commercial Club and Brethorst-Burma American Legion Post 9 174.. He was preceded in death by his parents and his two sisters: his twin, Geraldine and Evelyn. Grateful for having shared his life are his wife, Eileen S. Rogers of Rapid City; three daughters and their husbands: Joy and Greg Polt of Bellevue, WA, Lynn and Jerry Hesse of Pensacola, FL and Darcy and Daryl Oltmanns of Piedmont, SD; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
