Mr. Wolff was born Aug. 18, 1925, at Aurora to Glenn and Marie (Green) Wolff. Survivors of the immediate family include his wife, Becky of Aurora; two sons and daughters-in-law, Gary and Barbara Wolff of Santa Fe, N.M., Michael and Paula Wolff of Troy, Ohio; a daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and Duane Wollenburg of DeWitt; a sister and brother-in-law, Maxine and Bud Hansen of Hampton; and a brother and sister-in-law, Vern and Carrolyne Wolff of Aurora. Those who also remain to cherish his memory are five grandchildren, Ryan (Vicki) Wolff, Tyler (Jessa) Wolff, Ashley Wolff, Adam (Anita) Wollenburg, Amy (Nate) Bowman, and four great-grandchildren, Anthony and Aiden Wolff, Mackenna Allyn and Sawyer Grace Wollenburg. After attending Aurora High School, Gerald then served in the U.S. Air Force during WWII, 1945-46. He farmed all his life and was a commercial trucker for 35 years, retiring in 1990. Gerald was united in marriage to Roberta "Becky" A. Thierer on Jan. 3, 1948, in Palmyra. They were blessed with three children, Gary, Michael and Patricia. Gerald and Becky celebrated 65 special years together this past January. Gerald was very active as a lifetime American Legion member of the Lester S. Harter Post 42, where he served as past commander. He was a member of LaSociete Des 40 Hommes ET 8 Chevaux (40/8) and the Eagles in Grand Island. Gerald was a lifetime member of the United Methodist Church. Gerald was involved with the initial planning to the completion of the Veterans Memorial in Aurora. For over 20 years he enjoyed friendships while volunteering at the Plainsman Museum. Growing flowers and gourds had also become a passion of his. He was preceded in death by his parents.
