Gerald Delbert Gause was born on Apr 15, 1949, to Delbert and Lily (Olson) Gause in Sioux Falls, SD. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Dianne Gause. He attended school in Salem where he graduated in 1967. In December 1967 he enlisted in the Navy and served during the Vietnam Conflict until September 1971. After being honorably discharged from the Navy, he attended Dakota State College graduating with a bachelor’s degree in business. On Dec 27, 1972, Jerry married Sylvia Falk at Ramsey Baptist Church, Montrose, SD. Jerry worked at a number of positions, most recently as a payment analyst at Sanford Health. He also served in the Navy Reserve for a number of years. After his father passed away in 1997, he and Sylvia moved to the family farm where he resided until his death. Jerry was a member of Ramsey Baptist Church where he was currently serving as a deacon. He was involved in many ministries including serving as a discipleship coach with the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association. He also enjoyed hunting, golfing, reading, singing, and loved spending time with family and friends. Jerry is survived by his wife, Sylvia of Montrose; his sister, Wanda (Jack) Bailey of Jamestown, ND; two nieces, Rachel and Michelle; and one nephew, Matthew. Funeral services were held on Sat, Jan 3, 2015, at Ramsey Baptist Church, rural Montrose, SD. Interment was in the Ramsey Baptist Church Cemetery. Arrangements were with the Kinzley Funeral Home, Salem, SD.
