Mr. Barfield was born in Fort Mill on Oct. 20, 1934, a son of the late Rev. Fred W. and Edith Young Barfield. He was predeceased by two brothers, Larson and Legrand Barfield. Mr. Barfield was born in Fort Mill on Oct. 20, 1934, a son of the late Rev. Fred W. and Edith Young Barfield. He was predeceased by two brothers, Larson and Legrand Barfield. Mr. Barfield is survived by three sons, Calvin Barfield and his wife, Sandy, and Ray Barfield and his wife, Crystal, all of Conway, and Justin Barfield and his wife, Annie, of Aynor; two daughters, Rhonda Hyman and her husband, Greg, of Conway, and Christy Hodge and her husband, Eric, of Pelzer; four brothers, Fred Barfield of Conway, Laverne Barfield of Ontario, Canada, James Barfield of Conway, and Sherrod Barfield of Myrtle Beach; three sisters, Gwen Whalen of Florence, Carroll Skipper of Aynor, and Darlyn Adams of Myrtle Beach; nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 4, 2006 at the Aynor Church of God with the Rev. Jerry Love officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
