Description	:	Funeral services for Gerald Henry Hintz, age 69 of Aberdeen (formerly of Lemmon and Leola) will be 11:00 a.m. MT Saturday, April 11, 2009 at the Calvary Lutheran Church in Lemmon, SD. Pastor Erik Swanson of Leola and Pastor Ken Miller will officiate with burial in Greenhill Cemetery in Lemmon. Special music will be provided by Marilyn Willey. Dale Rodgers, Jim Hodgson, Arlen Guthmiller, Jerry Heier, Robert Schumacher ,Gary Outtrim and all friends and relatives are considered Honorary Bearers. Gerald Henry Hintz was born September 10th, 1939 at Missoula, MT to Henry and Helen (Wiedmer) Hintz. He graduated from Lemmon High School and attended the University of Montana in Missoula. He married Darlene Hoffman of New Leipzig, ND on August 1st, 1959. Gerald worked in the 1st National Bank in Lemmon for 30 years. In 1989 they moved to Leola where Gerald worked at CorTrust Bank until 2006 when he retired. In 2007 they moved to Aberdeen to enjoy their retirement. Gerald was a current member of the St. James Lutheran Church in Leola and was a member of the Calvary Lutheran Church while living in Lemmon. Gerald's favorite past times were working on or fixing things (there was nothing he couldn't repair!), snowmobiling, and enjoying time with his granddaughters. He also enjoyed war stories and had a fascination with airplanes from a young age Gerald left us for his heaven in the mountains on Tuesday morning, April 7, 2009 at the Aberdeen Health and Rehab Center after a 2 ½ month battle with cancer. Grateful to have shared Gerald's life are his wife Darlene of Aberdeen, SD; two sons Bruce (Cherie and her son Brandon) Hintz of Lead, and Gregg (Betsy) Hintz of Aberdeen, SD; two granddaughters, Alyssa and Brooke Hintz of Aberdeen, SD; and one sister June Garcia, of Houston, TX. Gerald was preceded in death by his younger brother Jimmy, his parents Henry and Helen, and brother-in-law Jesse Garcia. A memorial has been established. Visitation will be on Friday, April 10 from 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Evanson Jensen Funeral Home in Lemmon and one hour prior to the services at the church on Saturday. A gathering of friends and family will be at 7:00 p.m., Friday April 10, 2009 at the funeral home in Lemmon.
