Two brothers ~ Frank Kramer, Mesa, AZ and Norbert Kramer, Omaha, NE and eight grandchildren. . . obituary Harlan Newspaper Gerald Jerome Kramer, 64 Aug. 8, 1927 ~ Dec. 26, 1991 HARLAN ~ Gerald Jerome Kramer, son of Frank and Cecelia (Schechinger) Kramer was born Aug. 8, 1927 at Defiance. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Peter's Catholic School m Defiance, and grew to adulthood on the family farm. Nov. 16, 1949, he married Alma Rau at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Portsmouth. Six children were born to this union. After their marriage they farmed for several years before he became employed at Western Iowa Pork in Harlan. Later, he became employed as a custodian at the Harlan Community High School, a position he held until Aug. of 1985. He died Dec. 26, 1991, at his home in Harlan, at age 64 years, four months and 18 days. He was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church in Harlan; and a past member of the Knights of Columbus. In addition to his parents; he was preceded in death by five brothers, Lawrence, Victor, Raymond, James, and Anthony and two sisters, Cecelia and Patricia. He is survived by his wife, Alma of Harlan; four daughters, Sandra (Dave) Hopper of Carroll; Debbie (Robert) Rounds, and Geralyn Kramer, both of Harlan; and Tami Kramer of Maryville, MO.; two sons, John of Leavenworth, KS., and Larry of Harlan; eight grandchildren; seven sisters, Irene (Dale) Friesen of Co. Bluffs; Lillian Schaben of Harlan; Rita (Verdy) Klocke of Cascade; Theresa (Tom) Grote and Dolores (Bill) Fuhs, all of Portsmouth; Leona (Joe) Bissen of Clarinda and Mary (Francis) Heese of Earling; two brothers, Frank (Adeline) Kramer of Mesa, AZ., and Norbert (Marlene) Kramer of Omaha, NE., and other relatives. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Dec. 30, 1991. at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Harlan with Rev. Edward Kelly, celebrant. Burial was in the Harlan cemeteiy with Mick Rau, Randy Fuhs, Scott Heese, David Kramer, John Friesen and Larry Schaben, casketbearers. Pauley Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. . .
