Description	:	Gerald "Jed" Manly Gainey, 67, the widower of Cindy Lee Marlowe Gainey, went home to be with the Lord, Wednesday, April 27, 2022, at his residence. Mr. Gainey was born the son of Acra Durant Gainey and Lula Mae Connelly Gainey on November 28, 1954, in his homestead community of Puncheon Creek. He was the 6th born of 7 siblings: Christine, Loretta, John, Karl, Alvin, and Doug. He was a heavy equipment mechanic for numerous constructions companies. Read More	Gerald "Jed" Manly Gainey, 67, the widower of Cindy Lee Marlowe Gainey, went home to be with the Lord, Wednesday, April 27, 2022, at his residence. Mr. Gainey was born the son of Acra Durant Gainey and Lula Mae Connelly Gainey on November 28, 1954, in his homestead community of Puncheon Creek. He was the 6th born of 7 siblings: Christine, Loretta, John, Karl, Alvin, and Doug. He was a heavy equipment mechanic for numerous constructions companies. He was an avid and skillful hunter and fisherman, enjoy cooking, and spending time with family especially his grands. He was a member of Holy Trinity Pentecostal Holiness Church. His greatest success was the pride and love he gave as devoted husband, loving father, cherished grandfather, and a caring brother. Gerald and Cindy were married on August 5,1995, and celebrated 23 years together. Their home was blessed with three children, Christina "Christy" Lee (Robert III) Sims., Jamie Lynn (Ricky) Todd, and Jake Morgan (Amanda) Evans; seven grandchildren, Robert IV (Nora), Ricky "RJ" Jr., Maddison, Royal, Austin, Theresa, and Kaitlyn; and four great-grandchildren, Emilio, Braedon, Denise, and Jessie. He is also survived by four siblings, Loretta Williams (Ted Lee), John Gainey (Alberta), Karl Gainey (Clara), and Doug Gainey (Connie); a sister-in-law, Debbie Gainey; and a large number of nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents; his wife, Cindy; a sister, Christine; and a brother, Alvin Charles Gainey. A Home Going Celebration will be 3PM, Saturday, April 30, 2022, at Holy Trinity Pentecostal Holiness Church. Officiating will be Rev. Tom Brackett and Ricky Glisson. Interment directed by McKenzie Funeral Home will follow in the Bethel Cemetery. The Gainey family will greet family and friends prior the service from 2-3PM in the church sanctuary. McKenzie Funeral Home is honored to serve the Gainey family.
