Boyington, 77, longtime resident of the Dows area, died at Mercy Hospital in Mason City on Monday morning where he had been a patient for ten days due to injuries suffered in a fall at his home. Funeral services were held on Thursday afternoon at two o'clock from the Presbyterian Church with the Rev. W. O. Niles officiating. Mr. Boyington was born on December 31, 1893, the son of Allan and Fannie (Collnes) Boyington at Galt. He was married to Hazel LaRue on June 1, 1927. He is survived by his wife; one son, Richard D. Boyington of Tacoma, Washington; one daughter, Mrs. Geraldine Scott of California; one brother, Hugh Boyington, Dows and five sisters: Mrs. Walter (Fern) Noenecke of Litchfield, Minnesota; Mrs. Carl (June) Kellensord, Eagle Grove; Mrs. Gus (Lucille) Knudson, Estherville; Mrs. E. D. (Leota) Carter of Eagle Grove and Mrs. Richard (Bernice) May, Eagle Grove. There are eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren also surviving. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, one son and one grandson. Mr. Boyington was a veteran of World War I.
