He was also preceded in death by his parents. Funeral services will be held on at 10:00 AM on Monday, January 19, 2015 at Weiland Funeral Chapel in Madison with Rev Constanze Hagmaier officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery. He graduated from DeSmet High School and South Dakota State University. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was a member of the Board of Directors of the Iroquois Farmers and Merchants Bank and Trinity United Methodist Church of Iroquois. He was also a member of the Huron Lions Club, Huron Lodge of the Scottish Rite of the Free Masons and was a life time achievement member of the El Riad Shriners of Sioux Falls. He loved farming and took pride in operating his family farm and enjoyed working closely with his neighbors. The family will be present from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM on Sunday at the Weiland Funeral Chapel which is in charge of the arrangements.
