Geraldine E. “Gerrie” Timperley, daughter of Otto and Clara (Hilpert) Krehnke, was born July 20, 1928, at Pierce, Nebraska. Gerrie graduated from Norfolk High School with the class of 1946. On August 21, 1949, she was united in marriage to Dean Timperley at Norfolk, Nebraska. They had two children, Clayton and Vicky. Dean and Gerrie later divorced. Gerrie lived in the Norfolk area most of her life. She was employed as a dispatcher at Norfolk Police Department for 30 years. Gerrie was then a receptionist for Dr. Bazant’s dentistry office until January of this year. She was a member of Christ Lutheran Church in Norfolk. She was also a member of Fraternal Order of Police and a lifetime member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Ladies Auxiliary, of which she was a past president. Gerrie is survived by her children, Clayton (Sharon) Timperley of Fontanelle, Nebraska and Vicky (Rance) Lierman of St. Paul, Nebraska; four grandchildren, Stacy (Darrin) Grewek, Wendy (Mark) McVicker, Carrie (Scott) Steffensmeier, and Kelly Brooks and special friend, Lisa Burkhardt; 12 great-grandchildren; one sister-inlaw; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother; and four sisters. Memorials may be made to Christ Lutheran Church in Norfolk or S.M.I.L.E.
