Interment was in Prospect Hill Cemetery. Howser-Fillmer Mortuary had charge of arrangements. Jerry died Monday March 26, 2007 at Heritage of Bel-Air Nursing Home. Jerry and Al opened Baldridge Ice Cream Palace in 1939 and operated it until 1943 when Al entered the service. Jerry ran the "Palace" until 1948. Jerry and Al then opened the Zesto Ice Cream shop in Norfolk and held franchises in five states. She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Rae Ann and Ron Schmeichel of York; two grandchildren and their spouses, Traci and Garet Peters of York, Steve and Tasha Schmeichel of Lincoln; four great-grandchildren, Lauren and Taylor Peters of York, Parker and Keagan Schmeichel of Lincoln; one sister and her husband Dr. Jack and Mary Ann Lavender of Sioux Falls, S.D.; two nieces, Mary Ray and Ron Van Loh of Sioux Falls, S.D., Louise and Philip Rouse of Denver, Colo.; nephew, Jake and Natalie Lavender of Eden Prairie, Minn.; and special friends, Mary and Dick Garden of Norfolk.
