She was born September 2, 1928, in California, Mo., the daughter of Floyd Oesterly and Lorean Christina (Miller) Oesterly. She was married November 25, 1950, in California, Mo., to Dr. M. Russell Popejoy, who preceded her in death on December 12, 1995. She was a homemaker and a member of the Bethany Lutheran Church of Eldon, Mo. Read More	Geraldine "Joe" Popejoy, age 78, of Eldon, Mo., died Thursday, May 17, 2007, in Columbia, Mo. She was born September 2, 1928, in California, Mo., the daughter of Floyd Oesterly and Lorean Christina (Miller) Oesterly. She was married November 25, 1950, in California, Mo., to Dr. M. Russell Popejoy, who preceded her in death on December 12, 1995. She was a homemaker and a member of the Bethany Lutheran Church of Eldon, Mo. She was also a member of the Evening Euterpean Club, several bridge clubs and a sewing club. She was past director of Meals On Wheels and she served for many years as an election judge and was a member of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority. Survivors include: one daughter and son-in-law, Chris and Todd Hart, Russellville, Mo.; two sons and daughters-in-law, Sidney and Lori Popejoy and Kevin and Connie Popejoy, both of Columbia, Mo.; and four grandchildren, Katie Popejoy, Josh & Morgan Popejoy, and Matthew Hart. She was also preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Lee Jane Meyer; and two grandchildren, Adam Popejoy & Lindsey Hart. Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Sunday, May 20, at the Phillips Funeral Home, Eldon, Mo. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, May 21, at Bethany Lutheran Church, Eldon, Mo., with Pastor Peter Lange officiating. A private interment will be held at a later date at the Lutheran Cemetery, California, Mo. Memorials are suggested to Adam Thomas Popejoy Memorial Scholarship, 5 South Oak St., Eldon, MO 65026.
