Description	:	The funeral for Mrs. Harold (Geraldine) "Jerry" Gooding, 71, of 1318 S. Wells St., Aberdeen, was held Friday at First Baptist Church. The Rev. Harold Salem officiated. Burial was in Sunset Memorial Gardens. A prayer service was held at Paetznick-Garness Funeral Chapel, Groton, with the Rev. Donald Deiman officiating. Geraldine Smith was born January 26, 1920, to Robert and Virginia (Johnson) Smith at Hammond, Ind. As a child, she moved to the Claremont area and the family farmed in Marshall County. She graduated from Langford High School in 1937. She married William Harold Gooding September 7, 1938, at Aberdeen. They lived in Andover. They farmed in the Pierpont area. They returned to the Andover area. She worked as a nurses aide at St. Luke's Hospital in the 1950's. She operated and managed cafes in Andover and Britton for a short time. In 1967 they moved to Pierpont. She attended Aberdeen School of Commerce. She had jobs as bookkeeper and secretary for various businesses. They retired seven years ago and moved to Aberdeen. Survivors include her husband of Aberdeen; her mother of the Aberdeen Living Center; five sons, Robert Gooding, Des Moines, Iowa; Richard Gooding, Aberdeen; Jerry Gooding, Pierre; Donald Gooding, Bismarck and Ricky Gooding, Minneapolis; two daughters, Mrs. Roger (Luetta) McKittrick, Andover and Peggy Vaudrin, Minneapolis; one brother, Ross Smith, Lancaster, Calif.; one sister, Mrs. Arnie (Maxine) Likness, Britton; 20 grandchildren; and 13 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father and one son. Honorary casket bearers were Robert and Jonathan Gooding. Casketbearers were grandsons, Dan and Stace Gooding, Barry and Paul Vaudrin, Randy, Rory, Lonnie and Wade McKittrick. Organist was Mrs. Richard Marske. Soloist was the Rev. Dean Trapp.
