Green, 53, of Park View, Iowa, died Wednesday morning, April 8, 2015 in his home. Gerard Henry Green was born October 31, 1961, in DeWitt, Iowa, to Howard and Monica (Hahn) Green. He was a 1980 graduate of Central Community Schools, DeWitt and received a degree as a diesel mechanic at Scott Community College. He farmed for several years and drove truck for Watts Trucking, Midland Davis and most recently Quad City Freight. On August 26, 1995, he was united in marriage to Susan Cole at Saints Philip and James Catholic Church, Grand Mound. He loved farming, working on trucks and cars and spending time with family. Surviving are his daughter, Elizabeth Green of Winona, Minnesota; his mother, Monica Green of DeWitt; sisters and brothers, Veronica Gruby, Davenport, Iowa and her son Micheal; Howard (Linnea) Green of Greenfield, Indiana and their children, Matthew (Ashley), Rodney (Jody and their daughter, Taia), Luke and Adam; Anita (Doug) Stearns of Long Grove Iowa, and their children, Jeremiah (Jackie and their sons, Matthew and Nolan) and Michele (fiancé, Deric Olson); Christine (Bill) Spain of Charlotte, and their children, Julie Olson (Matt and their children, Ryan and Kara), Laura Howe (Casey and their twins, Jaxon and Zoe), Kevin (Ashleigh) and Melissa (Travis) Eversmeyer; Sharon (Mike) Bube of Nashville, Indiana, and their children, Stephanie, Sarah, Sherry, Jennifer, Jeanette, and Jamie; Paul (Christine) Green of DeWitt and their daughter Adrianne (Jacob) LaMarche (daughters, Jaelynn and Lillian); Andrew (Maria) Green of Walcott, Iowa and their children Colette Brockman (Chris and their children Ava and Ryan) and Nicholas (fiancée, Keeley Banowetz); aunts and uncles. Preceding Gerard in death were his father, Howard; a brother-in-law, Bill Gruby and his grandparents, Ben and Susie Green and Harry and Ursula Hahn. The family will receive relatives and friends at Schultz Funeral Home, Grand Mound, from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. Friday, April 10, with a vigil service at 7:00 p.m. The Liturgy of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 11, at Saints Philip and James Catholic Church, Grand Mound. Interment will be in the church cemetery. A memorial fund has been established. Pallbearers will be Paul Green, Andy Green, Howie Green, Nicholas Green, Jeramiah Stearns, Craig Green, Matthew Green and Tod Fischer. (Source: Schultz Funeral Home)
