Read More	DEATH TUESDAY OF GEO F OTTEMAN George F Otteman, life long resident, well known farmer and a former business man of Hooper, passed away at this home here Tuesday afternoon after a several weeks illness of a heart ailment, during which time everything possible known to medical science was done to prolong his life but to no avail. The son the late Mr. and Mrs. John H. Otteman a pioneer Dodge county family. George F Otteman was born August 13, 1874, on a farm six miles north of Hooper and died at his home in town August 24, 1943 at the age of 69 years and 11 days. As a youth he attended his home school and also the Hooper town school. Choosing farming for his occupation, he then assisted his father on the home farm. On October 14. 1897, he was united in marriage to Miss Anna Muller, the faithful loving wife who was his loyal helpmate for over 45 years. Four sons were born to their union, an of whom, together with the sorrowing wife and mother, survive to mourn the passing of a kindly, Indulgent father and husband, and an of whom were present at his bedside when death came to relieve him of his sufferings. Mr. and Mrs. Otteman lived on the same farm north of Hooper from the time of their marriage until 1928 when they came to town to make their home. As vice president of the Hooper State Bank, he was for a time actively engaged in the banking profession. From 1923 to 1925 he served in the state legislature and locally he was on the board of directors of the Hooper Telephone company and the Farmers Union Cooperative company. For 22 years he was treasurer of the Farmers Mutual Home Insurance company and also served his home school, district 18, as director over a period of years. At the time of his death he was assessor for Hooper township. The surviving sons are Walter, George and Gilbert, all of Hooper; Edwin of Rushville, now serving in the U S army; a brother Henry J Otteman of Hooper, and a sister, Mrs. Meta Schuldt of El Reno, Okla. Five grandchildren also survive as do many more distant relatives and a host of mends. Wollmer & Warne are in charge of funeral arrangements which will be held Friday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock from the home and at 2:00 o'clock from St Paul Lutheran church north of Hooper of which he was a life-long member. Rev Hugo Welchert will conduct the rites.
