Services will be held on Thursday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Alton. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Germaine and William are the parents of two daughters: Karen Margaret ******** Sioux County Capital; August 15, 1985 Mrs. William Gaul,66, of Alton, died Monday in a Sioux City Hospital after a brief illness. Services will be held on Thursday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Alton. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Mrs. Gaul, the former Germaine Arens, was born January 24, 1919 in Alton where she was raised and educated. She graduated from St. Mary’s Academy at Alton. She married William Gaul on February 5, 1941 in Alton and the couple moved to eastern Iowa where they lived for several years before moving back to Alton. Mr. Gaul died October 5, 1974. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Church Guild and St. Mary’s Rosary Society. Survivors include two daughters, Karen and Margaret; a sister, Mrs. John P. (Marie) Gaul of Sioux City and seven grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Nicholas Arens (Margaret Schaefer); three brothers, Aloysious, Joseph and George Arens and one sister, Miss Cecelia Arens.
