Gerrit and Jennie are the parents of four children: Morris Gerald Shirley Orville ******** Sioux county Capital; December 20, 1990 Gerrit Nettinga, age 91, of Hull, died Monday, Dec. 10, 1990 at the Sioux Center Community Hospital. Gerrit was born March 14, 1899 at LeMars, the son of Kornelius Nettinga and Susie Bylsma Netttinga. As a child, he moved with his family to the Perkins-Hull area, living there on a farm until his death. On Feb. 16, 1928 he married Jennie Clarice Dykstra at Hull. She died May 10,1959 at Hull. Mr. Nettinga was a member of the American Reformed Church of Hull where he served on the consistory as an elder. He had also been a member of the board of directors of the Farmers Cooperative Association in Hull for 18 years and a charter member of the board of directors of the Sioux Center Community Hospital. Survivors include his four children, Morris, Gerald, Shirley and Orville; 13 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and two sisters, Mrs. Peter (Agnes) De Groot of Hull and Mrs. Edward (Alice) DeBoer of Orange City. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his daughter-in-law Helen; five sisters, Dena Nettinga, Jennie Warntjes, Julia Harmelink, Catherine Nettinga and Susan Nettinga; and a brother, Cathrinus Netltnga. Funeral services were held Thursday, Dec. 13,1990 at the American Reformed Church of Hull. Interment followed at Hope Cemetery in Hull.
