She was born on February 2, 1930 in the Beards Community of Woodruff County, the daughter of Andrew Earl and Sarah Maud Adeline Turley Stafford. Mrs. Holder graduated from McCrory High School where she played basketball. She married Mr. Wayne Anthony Holder on May 13, 1949. Read More	Gerry Stafford Holder lifelong resident of McCrory departed this life on Friday, April 28, 2017 from her residence at the age of 87. She was born on February 2, 1930 in the Beards Community of Woodruff County, the daughter of Andrew Earl and Sarah Maud Adeline Turley Stafford. Mrs. Holder graduated from McCrory High School where she played basketball. She married Mr. Wayne Anthony Holder on May 13, 1949. Mrs. Holder was a lifelong member of the McCrory First United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday School for over 50 years. She was also a lifelong member of the United Methodist Women. Being a homemaker, Mrs. Holder had time to volunteer at the Woodruff County Health Center Gift Shop. She was a former recipient of the Channel 4 Community Service Award and founding board member of the Ronald McDonald House in Little Rock. In her earlier years, she helped start the girls’ softball program in McCrory. She loved her family dearly and was a wonderful seamstress. Mrs. Holder is preceded in death by her parents, Andrew and Maud Stafford, one son, Kevin Ridgeway Holder, one granddaughter, Schree Holder Brogdon, two great-grandchildren, Lily Elise Brogdon, Liam Wolverton, seven brothers, Buck Stafford, T. J. Stafford, Bill Stafford, Don Stafford, Wendell Stafford, Aubrey Stafford, Roger Stafford and one sister, Muriel Stafford Brogdon. Mrs. Holder is survived by her husband of 67 years, Wayne Holder of the home, two sons, Tony Holder and wife Stephanie of Searcy, Arkansas, Wendell Holder and wife Michelle of McCrory, Arkansas, two daughters, Debra Fields and husband Barney of Tilton, Arkansas, Shelley Lee and husband Roy of Cabot, Arkansas, eight grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
