Description	:	Gertha Chancey Gertha Mae Chancey, 93, of Ripley died Dec. 29, 2002, at Jackson General Hospital after a long illness. She was born July 25, 1909, in Plum Orchard, a daughter of the late Rev. James and Virginia Wolfe Anderson. She was a member of Plainview Baptist Church and attended Calvary United Methodist Church. She worked as a volunteer at Jackson General Hospital Gray Ladies. She was retired from Thomas & Wolfe Meat Market. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She is survived by two sons, Bobby O. Chancey (Carolyn) of Harrisville, and Billy E. Chancey (Shirley) of Ripley; three daughters, Freeda Good of Washington, W.Va., and Wanda Bush and Doris Wilson (Bill) of Ripley; special niece and caregiver, Naomi Williams; nine grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, O'Dell Chancey; one great-grandson; two sons-in-law; seven brothers; and one sister. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday at Vail Funeral Home, Ripley. Burial will be in Fairplain Cemetery, Fairplain. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
