Gertrude lived north of Crab Orchard for 26 years before moving northeast of St.Mary, where she lived till the time of her death. She was a member of the the St. Mary Catholic Church. Survivor include a sister, Agnes Siegel of rural Tecumseh. She is preceded in death by her parents, John and Mary (Piontek) Siegel. her husband, Albert O. Whitten in August of... Survivor include a sister, Agnes Siegel of rural Tecumseh. She is preceded in death by her parents, John and Mary (Piontek) Siegel. her husband, Albert O. Whitten in August of 1976, and three brothers. Funeral services were held March. 9, at the St. Mary Catholic Church with Father Raymond Hain officiating. Pallbearers were Leonard Goetz, Walter Masur, David Schuster, Leland Pella, Clarence Higgins and John Goracke. Interment was in the Holy Rosary Catholic Cemetery, St. Mary, NE.
