She was educated in the Eagle Grove schools. Gertrude was united in marriage with Grover Yoder Sr., of Woolstock on October 19, 1920, at Webster City. The couple farmed for a short time near Renwick, then moved near Woolstock, where they farmed until 1939, when they moved to Woolstock to make their home. Mr. Yoder died in 1967. Mrs. Yoder continued to make her home in Woolstock, until moving to the Clarion Care Center in December of 1985. Gertrude died there in the late afternoon of Sunday, June 29, 1986 at the age of 84 years and 24 days. She is survived by three sons: Bernard Yoder, Tacoma, Wash.; Cedric Yoder, Woolstock; and Grover Yoder, Jr., Woolstock; Seven daughters: Venetta Kepler, Des Moines; Faye (Mrs: Larry) Moser, Eagle Grove; Margaret (Mrs. Lester) Stangeland, Jewell; Lela (Mrs. Earl) LaRue, Des Moines; Frances (Mrs. Donald) Linstrom, Eagle Grove; Kay Thomas, Des Moines; and Terry (Mrs. Duane) Tindall, Corwith; three brothers, Albert Fisher and Lyle Fisher, both of Des Moines, and Frank Fisher of Woolstock; sister, Bessie Ponx of Des Moines; 44 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; and seven great great- grandchildren. Gertrude was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a sister Bernice, one grandchild, and two sons, Donald and Martin. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and the United Methodist Church of Woolstock. Funeral services for Gertrude Dora Yoder, 84, were held at the United Methodist Church, Woolstock, Iowa, at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, July 1, 1986. Rev. John J. Hembry officiated, and burial was in Cass Center Cemetery, near Woolstock.
