ESTEEMED AKRON WOMAN IS CALLED BY DEATH SUNDAY Mrs. Arthur Bellwood Was Lifelong Resident Of Plymouth County Mrs. Arthur Bellwood, a resident of Plymouth county, Iowa, all her life, passed away at her home in Akron, early Sunday morning, June 11, 1939, of heart trouble, aged 64 years, 1 month and 6 days. She had been in poor health the past few years. Elizabeth Gertrude Gibson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Gibson, was born May 5, 1874, at Le Mars, Iowa, where she grew to young womanhood. On March 15, 1893, she was united in marriage with Arthur Bellwood, of Akron, Iowa. To this union five children were born. Mr. and Mrs. Bellwood lived on a farm near Westfield, Iowa, until 1916, when they moved to Akron, and this has since remained the family home. Mrs. Bellwood was a member of the Methodist church. She leaves to mourn her demise, her husband, Arthur Bellwood;two sons and two daughters, Alva and Dalton Bellwood, of Akron; Mrs. Della Fursee, of Yankton, S. D., and Mrs. Cleo sheets, of Akron; also by three sisters, Mrs. Clara Troxal, of Washington state; Mrs. Lucy Boyd, of Oregon, and another sister in Washington; one brother, Charles E. Gibson, of Salem, Oregon; eight grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and many other relatives. A kind and devoted wife and mother, a good and helpful neighbor and friend, she will be greatly missed in the community where she had resided for so many years. The sympathy of a host of friends goes out to the bereaved husband, children and other relatives. Funeral services were held from the house Monday afternoon at 2:15 and in the Methodist church at 2:30 o'clock, conducted by Rev. J. F. Moore. Mary Burket and Kathlyn Moore sang, "Safe in the Arms of Jesus" and "Going Down the Valley," the piano accompaniment by Mrs. Pearl Pollock. The pallbearers were Harry B. Nelson, L. K. Burket, Max Pollock, L. J. Cross, H. H. Wetzeler, Oscar Baldwin. Interment was in Riverside cemetery. Akron Register Tribune Thursday, June 15, 1939 Akron, Iowa
