Jackson Jr. and Miss Gertrude Irene Flaherty were wed in a quiet ceremony at the Catholic church at nine o'clock this morning, November 28, 1934. Rev. Fr. Mulligan read the marriage lines and officiated at the nuptial mass. The ceremony was witnessed by only a few immediate relatives. Plans had been made for a more elaborate wedding but owing to the sorrow that has befallen the family, the ceremonies were made as simple as possible. The young couple were attended by her sister, Miss Lois Flaherty, and his brother, Harry Jackson. The bride was most attractive in a gown of dark green crepe fashioned with a similar shade of satin. Her hat was of gold metallic, trimmed in brown. Other accessories were in harmony. The maid of honor wore a gown of medium blue crepe. Her hat and accessories were of harmonizing tones. The men both wore dark business suits. Following the ceremony a wedding breakfast was served at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Marion Buck, a sister of the bride in St. Edward. The young couple then left for a brief honeymoon, not disclosing their destination. They will make their home on a farm on the Skeedee. Both these young people are well known and popular at St. Edward. The bride is the second daughter of Mr. and Mrs. F.P. Flaherty and a graduate from the St. Edward High School in 1928. [listed in 1930 graduates] The groom is the youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. William jackson, Sr. He has grown up in this community, farming for many years with his father. Mr. and Mrs. jackson enjoy an unusually large circle of friends who join with the Advance in wishing them the best of all good things along life's pathway.
